I don't have a data plan, so I can't get App Store. This being the case, I went to Google to download the Google Mobile App directly (using WiFi). I was able to do so, but when I went to run the app, it said it needed to finish installing, and after doing so for some time, it said that it was unable to complete installation. I was still connected to WiFi as this was happening. I don't think it has anything to do with not having a data plan, as I was able to install the Opera Mini browser (which I've since deleted) without a data plan, but maybe I'm missing something.

I went directly to the source, on Google Mobile Help forums
they seem to say that Google applications for BlackBerry are not compatible with Wi-Fi : Google Mobile App, Google Mobile Sync, GMail, Google Maps.
I am not sure who the persons who reply are, though, so information may not be the most accurate.
