HELP BBM NOT RESTORED VIA BB ID!!!

Something completely strange and weird happened

 

I'd been using BBM ID for a while on Torch 9810 and 9860 besides 9790 for a while. I downgraded to an 8900 and was using an old backup.

 

YESTERDAY I MOVED BACK TO A 9790 AND AS THE DEVICE STARTED IT ASKED ME FOR BB ID, WHICH I GAVE, THE NEXT THING IT DID WAS GIVE ME THE OPTION TO RESTORE DATA OTA, I AGREED. I GOT MY OLD BBM LIST FROM 7 DAYS, FANTASTIC, NEVER HAPPIER! BUT THAT'S NOT IT

 

NEXT I CONNECTED TO THE PC, IT ASKED ME FOR DEVICE UPDATE, WHICH I DID, MADE BACKUP OF MY DEVICE AND UPDATED TO NEWER (7.1) VERSION

 

AFTER UPDATE WHEN I LOGGED IN TO BB ID THE OLD LIST WAS NOT RESTORED!

 

I NOW ONLY HAVE AN OLD BACKUP FROM SD - WHAT THE HELL DO I DO NOW???

 

FEEL LIKE ABUSING BB DEVELOPERS FOR THESE GAFFS...

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

Thanks for the question.

 

Did you complete a full backup of your data prior to performing the BlackBerry device software update?  Also I would suggest reinstalling BBM by going to www.blackberry.com/bbm and then try to login with your BlackBerry ID.

 

Also let me know if you receive a specific error when you try to restore the contacts.
