HELP!!!! Bold 9700 is not turning on!! Red light coming on only when plugged in!

Help!! Anyone!!! I just purchased a Bold 9700 last month and yesterday it fell, probably a distance of no more than a foot. Since then the phone isn't turning on at all and the red light is coming on for a short while only when plugged in!

Any advice please??? Desperate!!

Thanks much.

Re: HELP!!!! Bold 9700 is not turning on!! Red light coming on only when plugged in!

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

Hopefully that will resolve it for you. A short foot drop should not cause that kind of behavior, but you never know.

Well, first, what else have you done? That way we don't have to go back and forth.

Re: HELP!!!! Bold 9700 is not turning on!! Red light coming on only when plugged in!

Well I took out the battery and put it back in and still nothing. I also tried plugging it into my computer and still no response. I know that the problem isn't the battery because I tried the battery in another bb and it worked fine. So that's where I am now, phone still isn't turning on but the red line will come on for a short while (about a minute) when the charger is plugged into the phone.

Ok I plugged it into the laptop again and the battery with the red line is coming up on the screen, I can't get into the phone though.
