As my Subject line indicates our Blackberry Torch 9810 all of a sudden shut off and won't come back on. Plugged the charger in, took the battery out and put it back in, to no avail. The RED LED (left one on top) keeps flashing, first once, then after a short pause 3 more times and then repeats. I've looked everywhere to find what that sequence means and I can't locate that info anywhere. Any ideas???

In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.

I have the same problem which started when I tried to upgrade to the latest version. The device will not connect to the desktop software and will not update. Can you help? I have no files which I need to save so if there is away of restoring factory settings to enable the phone to work I am happy to do so.

You don't. You must be able to get it to boot up, either Normal or Safe, in order to take a backup. If you cannot get it to boot up via any of the various tricks, then you cannot now take a backup, and you must depend on your previously taken backups. Backups, like insurance, are neither a reactive nor an optional activity.
