For God's sake! How the hells I need to get this piece of... software to work?
Is that hard? I mean, hey, Im using right now tons of USB portable devices which work like a charm, so why my brand new Blackberry phone still asking me for: what tipe of connection you want (hundred of times) ?
10 (yeah ten) minutes to connect a simple usb storage, this thing which supposedly will make my life easier is driving me nuts fellas!
Running on Win7 32bits sp1 and WinXP pro sp3 x86
Why I cannot use it like a simple plug & play device, like any USB mass storage stuff.
Its a completely waste of time & money.
Drivers drivers drivers, pull out battery, double triple check usb cable, clean out USB registry entries.... blah blah blah.

Idk, can you?
If your answer is YES, please I beg you not to tell me all the stuff that is hanged around the whole web.
Why? because I've tried everything with only one result: Tons of minutes waiting for a simple PC to Cellphone connection.

Windows 7 PC; Desktop mgr. 4.2...installed the recommended drivers 4.5 before installing Desktop Mgr. If you're asking for an OS for the Pearl, whatever came with the 8100.
Okay! Your instructions were a bit different from what I encountered when trying to follow them on my Pearl 8100, but I did find the Media Card line, and configured as you suggested. My PC now recognizes my Pearl ("connected", and the device PIN is displayed at the bottom of Desktop Mgr.. Also, when I click "Options", then Connection Settings, my Pin also appears between "Connection" and the "Detect" button.
I clicked the Synchronize icon in Desktop Mgr.
A. Don't I then check "Synchronize Organizer Data"? Then,
B. Configuration tab
C. Configure Synch button
WHEN I ATTEMPT TO CHECK "MEMO PAD", I T WON'T CHECK, BUT IT WILL HIGHLIGHT.
1) I click the "Choose" button with Memo Pad highlighted.
THIS IS WHERE I'M TOTALLY LOST.
I'm presented with options to select:
*Novell GroupWise 6"
I assumed I should choose "ASCII Importer/Exporter.
When I do so, I get these options:
"Import", "Export", and, "Synchronize"
I assumed, "Synchronize".
I was also presented with a Browse button, that, when pressed, gave me a "Select ASCII Importer Exporter File", with an "Open" button. I chose the Blackberry Desktop Mgr. File.
Then, when I attempt to synchronize using the Sync icon in the Mgr., I get, "The ASCII Importer/Exporter can only be used with the import and export operations."
Apparently not the correct choice.

I have been searching all over for modem drivers - the modem drivers you mention here - will they work to install on an android tablet to use the tethered modem function somehow? If not, how can you get the tethered IP modem function to work on an android tablet like it does on any laptop - I don't need the whole desktop manager, just the tethered modem.
