HSBC Fast Balance (UK) and BlackBerry 9300

Dear Forum,


I need to report a problem with the HSBC Fast Balance sign up procedure in the UK.


I'm currently unable to verify postcode and address details with my BlackBerry 9300. This renders the app unworkable.


The app is throwing out the 7th character of my postcode (with no space included in the postcode) and declaring my address as invalid. The sign up is consequentially unable to proceed and aborted as my address is termed "invalid".


This is effectively making my 9300 partially dysfunctional.


Are there any developers on this website aware of this problem? I have reported it to HSBC UK and it is so far unresolved. I'm waiting for a response from HSBC within the next 5 days.

That app is developed by HSBC, so you really need to concentrate getting the fix made with the source.

O.K. So are there any BlackBerry users on this forum experiencing the same problem with HSBC Fast Balance?


I hope I'm not an isolated case. I might start to get a persecution complex.


The problem probably lies in the banking software. Surely if one individual is locked out using a BlackBerry 9300 handset so are all 9300 users.


Empathy with other "locked out" BBerry 9300 owners might make me less paranoid I suppose.


Nobody likes to feel alienated unfairly from the majority after all do they?


A software app is fully debugged before being released into the public domain isn't it?


I just want an app that works on my mobile.


Whatever happens I'm going to chase up HSBC until I get to the bottom of it and find the cause. Either that or try a newer handset with the latest OS. Perhaps that will fix it.

I've just read a selection of reviews about this app and BlackBerry and it appears to be an overwhelming thumbs down waste of time app.


Gratifying to know I'm not alone.


Surprising that the software isn't debugged and improved???????????????????????


Come on you gizmo techno geeks. Sort the app or commit it to scrap.


What's this about a £1.00 a time charge for using it? Better to bin it.
