Does anyone know where I can find the % symbol on a blackberry torch. Pressing the "sym" button brings up the symbol screen, both pages do not have the % symbol.
v126.96.36.199 (bundle 695, platform 188.8.131.52) on the Rogers Network.

I'm a new blackberry user... I don't see any % sign...
Here is a screen capture I did following the screen capture guide...
Is there something wrong with my phone?

As elessar said, it's at the top right of the virtual keyboard, where the "y" would be on the actual keyboard. I checked mine and that's where it is. If you're not finding it, there is something wrong with your phone.
Let's start with a quick fix to see if that helps. With your phone powered on, remove the battery for one minute then replace it. Wait until your phone boots up and see if you still have the problem.
Let us know if that helps.

Here are the observations:
For touch screen:
-When "sym" is pressed on touch screen keypad, the "%" symbol exists
For physical keypad:
-When "sym" is pressed on the physical slide out keypad, the area/block is BLANK above the character P.
-When you put the blue cursor over the P, it is a blank blue cursor.

not sure if its different in various countrys as keyboard layouts are different but on mine in the uk using the
on screen touchpad > sym > % is top right above arrow pointing left (backspace)
using qwerty keyboard > sym > % above P on top right
so the post with a picture with a blank space above the P is a fault or it need a firmware/software upgrade
