Have .REM files on computer but can't open them

[ Edited ]

Hello,

So my BB died. I have copied all the picture to my PC. I no longer have the blackberry or the micro SD card as they have both died. I really need to access these pictures is there anything else i can do?

You're likely stuck. Sorry.

Encypted media files must be copied off of the original device with the decryption turned on, and using Roxio Media Manager on the PC, to decrypt the files. Without the original smartphone to decrypt the files, the files won't be usable.

How to encrypt files on an installed media card in the BlackBerry smartphone

Encrypted files stored on the microSD media card appear as .rem files

Did you read my post just ABOVE your own?

Re: Have .REM files on computer but can't open them

Let me answer in another way. The files are encrypted. That is what the rem extension tells you and us. If you had the BlackBerry there would be some hope, but you say you don't have it. There is nothing you can do, and least nothing I know about. I'm virtually certain the information is not recoverable.

Wowser, you waited eight months to answer!

Same answer applies as I stated in March... read the post above your first post (and as @aiharkness stated, as well)
