Help..how can I check to see if my young son has been saving adult material

Can anyone please give me some advice.  My young son who is 12 has a blackberry torch.  I am concerned he has been actively viewing adult sites on his phone.  Listed in his files folder are adult websites.  He assures me that he has accidently been redirected to the sites and not actively sought them out.  He has also deleted his web history so there is no way I can check to see if he has accessed the site many times.  I am not a techi person so I can not verify if he is telling the truth.   He assures me that he doesn't know how the websites ended up in his files folder, however when I have clicked on the sites they tell me the dates they were created and modified....unfortunately I don't know what that means either.  Can anyone shed some light on this please,  I would really appreciate some advice.

My suggestion download the BlackBerry enterprise server express on your computer and register your sons device on it. You can gain control of the device by putting restrictions on it.

Let me know if this help.

Thanks for the advice, but as I said I am not a techi.   You don't say whether he has accidently gone on to a link, could this of happened?

There is no way for us to identify whether your son have accidentally press a link or something but with regards to the date of modification that indicates the date when that site was visited.

Let me know if this help.

Thank you. What is the difference between a site being created and a site being modified?

How old is your son?

**edit:  oh, nevermind, you said 12..

Yes, he has been viewing porn. He's 12. That is what 12 year old boys do.

To solve the porn issues, don't give your BlackBerry.

Now, you need to figure out what to do about his lying to you.

The created and modified dates are just that, the date the file or folder was created.

Modified is the date the file or folder was modified, something changed in the file or a file within the folder was added or deleted.

I don't understand when you refer to "his folder", i.e.: "however when I have clicked on the sites they tell me the dates they were created and modified".  If he deleted his web history, how and what is it you're clicking on?

In addition to the content.... I would also be concerned about the DATA CHARGES!

I've read somewhere that one can go to the router and disable access to adult sites.  I don't how to do this.

If he's using your home wifi, you can block or blacklist URLs and IP addresses on the router.

He can then disable the Wifi and use the mobile network only.

Trust me, the solution does not lie in blocking sites, blacklisting URLs etc. You can do that for the next five years and he will find another place or method to view the sites.
