Hi to all.
On my BB 9900, I need to replace both the microphone and the black rubber sound-isolation collar surrounding it. The reason is very poor sound quality/level, unless one speaks directly into the mic slot. Also, an echo can be heard through the 9900's speaker. The rubber collar is damaged, missing a piece of its perimeter. Does anyone have answers to the following:
1) where can I buy the ribber collar - I've only found the microphone on some parts websites, but never the rubber surround?
2) is the microphone a part that needs to be de-soldered, then re-soldered onto the motherboard or other wiring? Or is it a pop-out, then push in part?
3) how is the rubber collar around the microphone held in place? Is it pinned down by the microphone to the MB?
Thanks in advance to all knowledgeable respondents.
