Help with Email

Hello! I have just added a second email account to my BlackBerry phone, but unfortunately I cannot figure out how to set it up so that it is the same as my first email account (connected since September, when I bought the phone). Basically, my first email account I added was my university email account. It is set up so that only incoming emails appear in my phone's messages section. That is, any email I receive will be delivered to my phone, but if I was to send an email from a computer, it would not appear as a sent message in my phone. I can't seem to get my second email account (Gmail based) to work like this; all the messages I send appear in the messages section of my phone. I've been trying to disconnected the synchronized outgoing email for the last hour but haven't had any luck. (I send a lot of emails, so having them synchronized really clutters my phone - but I really want to be able to receive the incoming messages when I'm away from my computer). Since my first email is set up this way, I can't imagine why I can't set up the second account this way. Anyone have any idea how to do this? Thanks in advance!

Re: Help with Email

Well, you could have two different types of email servers involved... POP3 email will not show your "desktop-sent" email. Gmail uses what is called an IMAP server which does sync any sent email to your handheld... including your sent email residing on your Gmail server.

A workaround is this... open your Messages folder > press the Menu key > Options > Message Display and Actions > check the "Hide Sent Messages".
