Higher frequency in email retrieval

Hi, for business purposes, I need my BB to retrieve emails every minute. How can I do that? Thank you in advance!

Re: Higher frequency in email retrieval

You have the 8520 model BlackBerry operating on the BlackBerry BIS network.

Your emails are pushed to the device on a regular basis prescribed by the type of email server you are using.

  • IMAP servers generally push instantly.
  • POP email servers generally push email on a 15 minute cycle, when email is found and pushed, the servers check again in two minutes and so on for a few cycles, then will revert to 15 minutes when no new mail is found after 2-3 cycles.

Push email intervals is not user controlled.

So, what type email server do you have?

Re: Higher frequency in email retrieval

Thanks for your reply!

My server is POP. I have set my laptop's Outlook to one minute, and I would like my BB to do the same. Is it even possible?

Re: Higher frequency in email retrieval

Did you read my post above?

You are using POP email. The push interval is as stated above.

It's the very same on newer BBOS devices using OS 5, 6, and 7.

The newer BB10 Z10 models use ActiveSync, and pop email is synced every 15 minutes.
