How do I export contact for *.WAB usage?

I need to export my contacts from my BB, so I can import them into Windows Address Book/Windows Mail, in order to put them on iTunes.

I'm told I export them from Blackberry Software, then import them into Windows Address Book. but I cannot see how to choose that option in the software, and when I do the import in Windows Mail 'Contacts', there is no WAB file in the export folder.

Hello,

Exporting via the Desktop Software went away sometime in Desktop Software v6, as I recall. Even after that, you'd still need some separate PC-based app to convert from csv to whatever format you require. Now, the method you would need to use is one of the following.

Configure for sync directly to a compatible Desktop PIM:

  • KB12268 Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows
  • KB03315 How to setup organizer data synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Software

Or, backup to your PC and then find a 3rd party PC app to extract the data from the resulting backup file (either BBB or IPD, depending on the version of the Desktop Software you use:

  • KB12487 How to back up BlackBerry smartphone data using BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

Good luck and let us know!
