Re: How do you restore factory settings on curve 8520?

Its too complicated for me, I can't get past the : Open Windows Explorer and go to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\ and open the Loader.exe file. In Vista 64-bit computers, the file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. Depending on your computer's settings, you may need to show hidden folders (under File > Options for Windows XP or Organize > Folder and Search Options in Windows Vista).

when i go on to that page it just confuses me, isn't there any other way?

Re: How do you restore factory settings on curve 8520?

jennawenna,

I am sorry but I won't have time to guide you through all those steps. Besides, I am still using Windows 2000 so I cannot really help you if you use Windows Vista.

I suggest you go ask your question in that other discussion, the one named "How to reload your operating system".

I am sorry but I'd rather tell you right away. It's better than making you wait for me to answer you. I hope Krypto or another contributor in that discussion can help you in a timely manner.

good luck.

Re: How do you restore factory settings on curve 8520?

Hello,

I think you can try two things : the soft reboot, and if it does not work, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data with these two reboots.

Soft reboot :
1) Hit the three following keys at the same time :
- Alt
- Right Shift
- Delete
2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.

Hard reboot :
1) your Blackberry device is on
2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
3) Put the battery back
4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

Please tell us if it works for you.

No it didn't seem to be working. I did both but still my bb button is stil not working.
I can get into the menu but I can't get the option to send my mesages, or copy any thing.
Uc browser and twitter its working but nowhere else.
