How to change "My Number"

[ Edited ]

I have a Blackberry Curve 9300 running OS 6.

I just changed network and moved my number across from my old provider to my new provider. However, when I go to the dialing screen, "My Number" appears incorrectly. It appears as the number that was originally on my new SIM, and not the number I actually have. (My actual number is correct when I phone other people - it's just the information on my phone that is wrong.) I'm in the UK.

I know there's an option to stop displaying "My Number", but this isn't what I want to do, I just want to change it so that it is right.

I've spent ages on Google looking for an answer, and all the answers I find seem to be only applicable to the US (such as dialing ##000000, this doesn't work), or seem to be for an older OS (e.g. go to Options > Advanced Options - I can't do this, there is no Advanced Options on my phone!).

Does anyone have an answer for my particular model and OS please?

Re: How to change "My Number"

On your home screen, find your Options  > Device > Advanced > SIM Card.

Scroll over or just below the "Phone Numbers" line.

Press the Menu key > Edit SIM Phone Number.

I can go to Options > Device but there is no "Advanced" on there. Is that for another model or OS perhaps?

I've looked through every single entry on the Options section and there is absolutely nothing there about the SIM card or "My Number"... I can't imagine where else it would be?!

Scroll over or just below the "Phone Numbers" line.

Press the Menu key > Edit SIM Phone Number.

For the Advanced, scroll the bottom of the screen after pressing "Device". It's there.

Or click on the Universal Search at the top of home screen and type "SIM" without the quote marks.

Re: How to change "My Number"

I think there was something wrong because I've resintalled the OS and now the options section is showing a load of options that weren't there before. When I searched for SIM before all I got was "Search Youtube", "Search Google" etc as results, but now it comes up exactly where you said. I wish I'd just done reinstalled it in the first place instead of driving myself mad searching for it for days!
