Easy. Attach the usb cable to the phone and computer. An option screen will appear on the phone. Select USB drive. In the computer's file manager keep double-clicking on the Blackberry phone that appears double-clicking on the folders inside until you find the photo you want to copy to the computer. Either drag and drop or copy and paste the pix

There is also one more way instead of transferring through USB cable.
Go to manage connections.
Check on your Bluetooth, switch on your Bluetotth for your laptop as well.
Now pair your device with your laptop.
So go to bluetooth manager or Blackberry Desktop manager, and then over there you can access files of your device on your laptop to get it transferred!

Neither the usb cable nor the bluetooth suggestions work for the Z30. When the usb cable is attached to the Z30, two directories show up on my computer, the first is protected and not accessible. Unfortunately that is where the photos are stored.
Any further suggestions?

Thank you for the reply. While working with this and again when trying to implement your suggestion, I realized there are several other problems with the Z30.
I have the largest SD card that the Z30 allows yet I can't get the Z30 to save anything to it - and it has been formatted. The camera preferences are set to save photos to the media card but will not do it, instead saving everything to the BB protected drive. If the photos were on the SD card, copying them to the computer's hard drive would be easy.
The option to Mass Storage off will not work. The button is grayed out and cannot be moved to the off position.
So, at this point it seems my big sd card is useless and the only way to move photos from the phone to the computer is via BB Link.
As I mentioned the PC does show the two phone storage sites, internal and the sd card. Internal cannot be accessed via the computer and it is the one that has the photos on it.

I can copy photos and music to the sd card from the computer and use them on the phone but I cannot get the phone to save photos to the sd card.
By "protected drive" I mean the internal storage. When using the usb cord, my computer shows me to directory listings on the phone - which as I look at again, realize I probably described incorrectly.
The 1st listed is designated [SD] and listed as drive X: on the computer. It cannot be read. When clicking on it the message given is "X\: is not accessible. The handle is invalid."
The 2nd listed is designated [Flash] and is drive Y: on the computer. It can be read but is not where the photos are stored. It is the only directory I can read on the computer via the usb connection.
This is a personal phone.
