How to get back Factory Setting or Format BB Bold 9700

Dears

I have a problem with my BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have BES and working well but no browsing even thru Wireless I cannot open any site. I have checked each and every option but the result is the same.It seems that I have done something wrong and unlikely put some option on/off.

To make the life easy, it is better to make it as factory setting or format it completely but I don't know the command or option to do it.

Appreciating your kind feed back.

Regards,

NSHKW

In this thread, what will using the Switch Device function achieve?

Re: How to get back Factory Setting or Format BB Bold 9700

Hi JSanders,

In KB18998, when resetting BB to factory settings, it says "an applied BlackBerry® ID will be removed, allowing the use of another" What exactly, it means?

Thanks,

Chris D

Your BlackBerryID can be re-entered or another BlackBerryID can be entered, say if you sold the device to someone else.

Re: How to get back Factory Setting or Format BB Bold 9700

Thanks for the link. I followed the instructions there and my 9700 has become significantly more stable. I had thought that the various apps which I had installed like Whatsapp, Facebook etc. would disappear. But they are still there, which isn't a problem.

Anyway, if anyone wants to get back to Factory Settings, just remember to do a full backup first with the BlackBerry Desktop program. And a backup at BlackBerry Protect for good measure. I needed that backup to restore my Address Book in Contacts, plus some important Memos. Everything else starts on a fresh note and my BB doesn't hang anymore.

Re: How to get back Factory Setting or Format BB Bold 9700

There's one thread somewhere about the 9700 freezing, and pulling out the microSD card as a solution. I did that a couple of months ago. It worked for a while but the problem came back. I believe this "back to Factory Setting" is the way to go - do away with all the settings and codes that have accumulated over the months (and possibly years) and start on a fresh note. I'll try to find that thread and post an update because this might help many others who are facing the same problems.
