I have tried everything: I've listened to all messages & deleted them & the icon is stil there after 2 days. Rather annoying. Any solutions to get rid of the icon would be GREATLY apprciated.
Thanks in advance,

Hi and welcome to the forums!
1) Do a battery pull as listed below.
2) So a search for any unopened or unacknowledged alert.
3) As quickly as possible leave three more VM's, if the indicator starts to count, you can probably clear them all.( Worst case? You have 4 VM's instead of 1).
4) Call your carrier and have them reset your VM
Let us know how it goes!
No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.
Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.
Go to messages>menu key>click on search
Search type> local
Name > in any address field
Include Encrypted messages>yes
Folder>: ALL FOLDERS
show: ONLY UNREAD
Click menu key>search
This will show any unread message or alerts on your device.
If the VM displays you can open it.

Problem solved. What I did was to turn my b/berry off then pull the battery. I then replaced the battery after about 10 mins. No data lost.
Thanks for your help. My sanity has been restored thanks to you. Much appreciated. Have a good weekend.
