How to increase the number of rings on Blackberry 8300

Hi

I am trying to increase the number of rings on my Blackberry from its current limit of 2.

I have had a look around on some forums and located some information such as, *hash104hash to obtain the 10 digit number, then **61*hash10digitnumber*11*30hash, (I have also tried *10* instead of *11*) but with no luck.

Can anybody out there help me please?

Thank you

Re: How to increase the number of rings on Blackberry 8300

GSM string: *61*[Phone Number]*11*[Time]#

In place of phone number put in your voice mail box number (call your carrier to know that) and in place of time put any value i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30. These values are seconds after which your calls will be diverted/forwarded to voice mail. Setting a higher value will meet your query.

This string is applicable GSM carriers only.

This is a network function so how you change the number will change from carrier to carrier.  Call their techincal support and they should be able to tell you what you have to key in to change it.

Or look on your carrier's website support section to find out what their Voicemail number is.

Re: How to increase the number of rings on Blackberry 8300

Depending on your carrier, you may be able to use this:

dial *94#{number of rings}

The actual number of rings seems to vary a little, usually the caller will hear 1 more ring than the number you get on the device, so for example if you use  *94#6  they should hear 6 rings and you should hear 5

This is actually a fairly standard code used by a number of carriers, I have found the actually number of rings does seem to vary a little by carrier.

Re: How to increase the number of rings on Blackberry 8300

On vodafone uk network with blackberry pearl, do the following;

**61*121 yournumber less the first 0 *10*30#

This will give you approx 30 seconds of ring before switching to voice mail( The 30 at the end is the seconds)

Say your mobile number was 07836 123456. You would enter **61*1217836123456*10*30#

This works. I have just done it to my own phone.

Incidentally, to turn voicemail off , ##61# To turn it back on, 1211

Hope this helps someone!!
