How to sync Storm bluetooth with vista 64 bit. (outlook)

the connection first has to be established through windows.  go to control panel>bluetooth>add wireless device

when you follow the pairing sequence for the phone and the pc, you will get a dialouge box that will prompt you to install drivers. choose the option that offers you not to show the warning again. you will successfuly pair the phone with the computer, but this will leave two hardware error icons in your device manager. ignore this. it will still connect. go to your bb desktop manager and inconnection options choose bluetooth. a confirmation box will pop concerning your connection. hit yes. you will now be able to synchronize outlook via bluetooth. some interesting things to note with this:

1. if you put your computer in sleep or hibernation mode, then boot back up the bluetooth connection will not work.  you will have to do a full restart to establish the link again.

2. when you enable the bluetooth in the storm, you will often see connection failed when it dispalys the status of your link with the pc. ignore this. this only refers to the audio connection in the windows bluetooth settings. the audio refers to the headset and stereo profile between the storm and the pc. these profiles will allow you to listen to music and answer calls through the pc speakers.  in order to enable those features, go to the windows audio bluetooth tab and choose either the stereo or the headset profile and press connect. your storm will now display connection established under one of the two profiles.

3. you can now send documents like word, excell, or anything else, including audio. how?

on the storm go to media.

if the media is one the following types audio, voicenote, ringtones, pictures, or video, hit the appropriate menu options.then hit the bb menu key. hit recieve via bluetooth option. now it is standing by to recieve from the pc. choose the appropraie media file (will not send folders) right click>send to>bluetooth device, you will see your paired device, leftclick then hit next. while the file is transferring, a dialouge box will appear on the storm to prompt you to save to deafault location, or destination of your choosing on the device. if you choose the default location just hit save. if you want to change the destination just hit the file icon and choose a different location

what about the office docs on your computer?

well, instead of choosing from one of the 5 icons on the bottom of the media screen, just hit the bb menu key from the media hompage instead, and choose recieve using bt. then follow the same process as stated above.  when you get ready to open your office doc, use the documents to go apps on the storm to locate and open the file. hope this helps!!!!!!! goodbye wires!!!!
