How to turn off EDGE

Hi,

 

I can't find solution on how to turn off the EDGE when I am not using the internet or email. I googled for the answer but nothing seemed to helped. Can somebody help me here.

Turn off your Data Services. Since you didn't post your device model, or operating system release, I can't tell you clearly how to do that, just look for your Manage Connections screen.

Go to Blackberry menu & search for manage connections option.. on that you'll have an option called "mobile nerwork options"... there you can switch off/on your data services at any given time... it will make your blackberry services off/on... Smiley Happy

I try this out but it is not converting to wifi. please tell me the solution to properly turn off edge.....I m using black berry bold 9780...

You do not want your EDGE signal?

 

Manage Connections > Mobile Network > turn off your mobile data.

Now, try only using WiFi and data, such as using the browser. Does that work?

Yes I dont need edge. I have turned off the data services after going in manage connections---> Mobile network---->Data services---->off. it is not working.  I simplily want GSM signals and use wifi. I cannot use wifi, when my mobile is in edge mode. that's y i want to turn off edge signal or remove internet setting from my mobile.....please help in that.
