OK, I've backed up the 8830 to the computer via the Desktop Manager. Now, how can I edit that data in the computer?
Editing the Address Book in the computer will be a LOT faster than editing it in the Blackberry.
Obviously my 8830 is new, based upon my nubee status, so the Address Book is filled with the old Nokla info, which now needs to be corrected/updated for the Blackberry. Plus I can now add address info and that too will be faster via the computer.

If you're on BES then your address books will be auto synced in your outlook (or other mail client). If you edit contacts in your desktop calendar those will be wirelessly synced.
If you're in BIS then you need to sync with desktop manager to you desktop mail client -> edit them as you want -> again re-synced with desktop manager.

The platform is XP SP2. No e-mail clients what-so-ever, as my e-mail server is my Linux box. Yes, I handle my own e-mail via Sendmail.
So, as a standlone box, there isn't standalone software that is available?
