Re: I Cannot add a second mail account

Your 9720 with a valid working BIS account BlackBerry data plan is capable of up to TEN email account configured.

  1. On the Home screen, click Setup.
Note: In BlackBerry 7, the customer may be prompted to log in to or create a BlackBerry ID if they have not done so already. For more information about how to create a BlackBerry ID from a computer, visit www.blackberry.com/btsc to read article KB24062.
  2. Click Email Accounts.
  3. Click Internet Mail Account.
  4. Click Set up another email account.
  5. Click the type of email account to be set up.
  6. Enter the desired email address and password.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. If prompted, ask the customer to choose a secret question from the list or create their own, and enter the answer in the space provided.
  10. Click Ok to return to Setup.

Re: I Cannot add a second mail account

I ve contacted FREE again :

They say that it is like this on all new BBY : 1 adress external and 1 compulsory BBY adress
They say it requires a small software to be able to set up more adress.
Do you agree this?
if yes what is this software?
Thanks

Re: I Cannot add a second mail account

It is my understanding that FREE in France is a discounted and not a full BIS BlackBerry plan provider.

I am going to ask a friend of mine in France to review both of your threads and advise.

Re: I Cannot add a second mail account

salut leboyt,

for BlackBerry phones that require BIS (= all BBOS phones like the 9720), the BlackBerry engineers allow up to 10 BIS email addresses.

On parallel, each mobile carrier will allow a number of BIS email addresses.

For low cost carriers :
- Free Mobile, Red by SFR, Sosh by Orange allows 1 BIS email address, and one carrier email
- B&You & Virgin Mobile allow as far as I know up to 10 email addresses

For regular carriers:
- Orange France, SFR and Bouygues allow 10 email addresses.

*****

For many reasons, I recommend using a 15.99€/month B&You contract especially if you live in a city because their network coverage for 3G/H+/4G is outstandingly better than SFR's and Orange's.
