Re: I accidentally deleted my BlackBerry ID. When I try to set up a new account with my old username, it says it's already taken. How do I get back my old (deleted) username? Or how long do I have to wait until it becomes available again?

Hello,

While you've paraphrased the error message, I deduce that you are using now a different BBID on your device than the original one. As such, you must WIPE your BB...once a BB is associated to a BBID, a WIPE is required to change that association.

Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

If, as you say, you deleted your BBID, then you also deleted any backups it may have of your data. Your only chance is if you properly deleted your BBID via the "destroy" link in the original confirmation email you received when you originally created it. If that is how you deleted your BBID, then now attempt to re-create it using the exact same credentials...if you are very lucky, the backups may be recovered. Note please that this is not likely...but perhaps worth a try.

Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Sorry, I do not understand your question. Can you try again please?

Further, please review this entire thread and try what is already recommended above, and provide specific and detailed results of what you try and exactly what happened with each attempt.

Good luck and let us know!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

If your device is NOT on the 10.3.2. OS level, then you can indeed WIPE (there is no such thing as "format") it and then create a new BBID.

But, if your device is on the 10.3.2 OS level, then anti-theft is active, which means you must know the existing BBID credentials in order to remove the association to the device. You likely need to contact whoever configured it last and find out those credentials. Otherwise, your device is not usable.

Good luck!
