I have lost all my media files after removing the battery

My employer asked me to remove the phone battery as they had no record of the IMEI no for my phone.

When i reinserted it all my media files - videos, ring times, and photos- had gone.

I still have all my contacts and am still receiving work email, so the phone was not restored to default setting.

I have never had a media card, so all the files were in the phone memory, are they recoverable?

Also now when i am using the phone it will not let me record a video as there is no media card inserted. This was not a problem before.

Why would removing the battery cause the memory to be wiped?

can anyone help?

Re: I have lost all my media files after removing the battery

Is this an employer-issued device?

You're on a corporate BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Service) account?

Is the media card inserted correctly?

At Options > Memory, does it state a media card is inserted?

I also have no ringtones anymore and my phone only vibrates because there is no original ringtones or wallpapers or anything?

Did you have a backup of the device memory?

No - I did not have any back up of the device memory that I know of?     I'm guessing by that post that I am out of luck to get my files back?

Re: I have lost all my media files after removing the battery

this worked for me,

1.go to options(the wrench symbol)>device>storage

2.uncheck or check(enable compression

3.uncheck or check(media card support)

4.save

5.uncheck or check(enable compression) and

6.uncheck or check(media card support) for second time

7.save

and then bb will askif you want to restore click yes
