Initial sync between Desktop Manager and 8320 does not recognize internet connection

Am unable to do an initial sync between Desktop Manager and BB Curve 8320.  Am getting error The computer must be connected to the Internet in order to initially configure synchronization settings. Please ensure that you are able to connect to the Internet and try again.  Tried with version 4.3 and 4.6.0.12.  I have a broadband connection that is always on and have also tried wirelessly.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Initial sync between Desktop Manager and 8320 does not recognize internet connection

Hi,

First we need to do a clean install of the DM you have on, this will clean up the other installation as well,

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206&sliceId=SAL_Pub...

After you are down download DM 4.5 with NO MEDIA MANAGER from here:

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

Just for trouble shooting purpose, turn off firewall and virus checkers,

Bring DM, go through the setup wizards, connect your BB and do a BACKUP first

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks

Re: Initial sync between Desktop Manager and 8320 does not recognize internet connection

I download DM 4.6 this evening.  I turned off both my firewall and virus protection, tried to sync but got the same error message.

Re: Initial sync between Desktop Manager and 8320 does not recognize internet connection

I suggested 4.5 because it is very stable, the key thing is to clean the other installs  off including the registry,

Have you done that?

Please let me know

Thanks

I was able to open DM and my BB was recognized and backed up but I got the same error message when I tried to sync.
