Issues with https://m.facebook.com and https://plus.google.com on BB browser

[ Edited ]
for last quite a few days I have been experiencing issues with opening the two sites

on my Blackberry mobile browser. I have tried doing this from multiple handsets that I have.

And it behaves quite randomly, 5 out of 10 times, the site would open successfully. and 5 times it gives the error "A network error has occurred." I have attached a screenshot of this error.

The error message is quite generic but interestingly I have been experiencing it only for these two sites.

At the same point of time(when any one or both of the above link are not working) http://www.google.com will open successfully.

Also the http versions of the URLs also behave similarly. That is sometimes they connect and sometimes don't.

Is this a know issue?

 Any known workaround?

I have tried this on BB 9900 and BB9360, from India,, airtel connection. and I have BIS service plan on my mobile.

Re: Issues with https://m.facebook.com and https://plus.google.com on BB browser

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Reboot

  • Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then it could simply be internet and/or carrier data network congestion, a problem with those specific sites, or some other cause. You should also try via both carrier data network as well as WiFi, if possible with two devices simultaneously so as to try and best replicate the same potential congestion issues. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!

OK...you followed the steps, and they did not help. (Note please that I cannot tell, from your words, if the steps worked correctly but did not resolve the issue, or if the steps did not even work correctly.) In any event, if that happens, you fall to the words I provided after the steps, which close with the recommendation to contact your mobile service provider for formal support. What is your result, therefore, from that?
