Key press not recognized while on a phone call

Torch 9800

6.0 2647

While on a phone call when I press either the keypad on the screen or on the keyboard it will not be recognized by the automated system on the other end of the line although I can hear the sound of the key press.

For example, when I call voicemail an automated voice will say "press 1 for the main menu", I will press "1" and hear the tone but it will not be recognized. This happens on every automated service not just those belonging to my carrier.

Re: Key press not recognized while on a phone call

Hey Prof_Templeton,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for the question.

When did the issue start? Also I suggest creating a backup of your data: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33505 and then follow the steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320

Then test the phone calls and key-tones while on a call prior to restoring any data.  Let me know if the issue still persists.

Cheers.
