Livestrong for the Storm cannot install

I have used the Livestrong application on my Curve. It is now available for the Storm. But when I go to the download in App World it still shows as "unavailable for my device".  I have logged in to App World and Paypal. I have uninstalled and reinstalled app world. I am at a loss of what to do next. Any ideas?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

 

How, exactly, do you know that it is available for the Storm? If you found that information out elsewhere, then it could be one of two things (I think).

 

1) The information is wrong.

 

2) The app has not completed the process of being pushed out to the Storm via AppWorld. (Alternatively, the vendor may not have even started that process -- it's up the the software developer to push the app out through the RIM system.)

It is on the Livestrong website. On that site there is a blog and others have gotten the app from App World.

Others with Storms? Or others with other BBs? Each developer must port their application to each BB model...and often to each OS on each model. The developers are responsible for choosing to do so and, if they do so, then to actually do the work. Then further are responsible for pushing the app out through the RIM AppWorld portal. Hence, I'd suggest you contact the developer to see if they are doing so.

Oh , also, on your Storm, are you on a model 9530 or 9550 on Verizon?

 

If you have a SIM card installed in the Storm, try removing the SIM, do a simple powered on battery pull reboot -- and now try Appworld again.

Hi all, and thanks so much for all the suggestions! unfortunately still no luck.

 

My Storm is the 9530.

 

I had already had the link sent to my phone, but it just takes me to App world with the app showing as not available for my phone.

 

I tried pulling the sim card and rebooting as suggested, no luck.

 

I know it is working for others. On the Livestrong Blog there are users using the new app on their Storms. so it is a problem somehow of my phone not retrieving the updated app (the old app did not work on the storm, the new version came out a few weeks ago). So it is a problem on my phone (I suspect) with it not updating to the new version. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ap World. I have emailed the Livestrong support group. They did get back to me initially but really had nothing to offer.

Yes did pull the SIM card, and rebooted. No change.
