Lost Address Book Entries

I just upgraded my BB 8310 last night to run v4.5.  After upgrading, I found that new address book entries I had recently added and were not saved to my SIM card were no longer in my address book.  Is all hope lost, or is there any way of retrieving those contacts?

Thanks

Re: Lost Address Book Entries

Check again, open your address book > Menu > Filters and UNcheck any that are checked.

Do you see the contacts now?

Re: Lost Address Book Entries

Thanks for the reply--I checked the filters and none are turned on.  I also only have one address book, so I don't think that is the problem.

Re: Lost Address Book Entries

On your PC, do a search of your entire c: hard drive for any file ending in the extension of "*.ipd" (ignore the quotemarks).

What do you find?

Re: Lost Address Book Entries

I'm having similar issues, the only difference I"m having is that 2 steps from the end of the update the system stopped responding, now all of my settings and new contacts are lost.  I've found a file named "LoaderBackup-(date)", and I'm assuming it's the backup to my settings, but how do I reload it now?

Good... that is what you want.

Open Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced.

On the right will be your BB device. On the left , your computer. If the loader backup is not automatically appearing there, click Open (above the left hand window) and navigate to where you know that loader backup is located...

once it is loaded to the left window pane, select the databases on the left and click the arrow to the right (in the center) to move those databses over to the device.

And follow the remaining prompts...
