Because those specifically are ONLY shortcut links to download and install the applications.

Just hide those.

I create a folder on my homescreen and i name of CRAP, move the unwanted shortcut icons in that folder, and then hide it. Sorta like a trashcan I don't empty.

Re: MAKE YOUR STORM FASTER! VERY EASY TO DO!!

Your first tutorial on your site is actually false. Enabling the Memory Cleaner will actually slow down performance on the Storm (or any BB device that has the Memory Cleaner).

Do you even know what the Memory Cleaner does? It is designed to wipe your already-free memory space from deleted files to a higher government standard. By "wiping" or "cleaning" that space from deleted files, it makes that specific deledted virtually unrecoverable.

Memory Cleaner does nothing to free additional space on the BlackBerry device, and the running process of the Memory Cleaner will actually slow the device and cause certain lag in it's operation.

Re: MAKE YOUR STORM FASTER! VERY EASY TO DO!!

I have a couple of suggestions for making you storm faster.

1. since the storm doesnt close out of programs as you move thruout the phone the programs continue to run.

Hold down the menu key and a small screen will pop up which is a quick key to change applications. This will show you all of the running programs that you have at once. There are usually about 4 or 5 programs that never shut down such as your Phone, Messages, Home, and Browser. If you have much more than this, go into each progran and either press the escape key until you have closed out of the program or press the menu key while in the program and press close. The less programs you have running the more memory you will have.

2. Clear the cache in your browser. By keeping the cache cleared you will also clear up memory.

In the browser application, press the menu key, choose options, then cache operations, then clear each history, press escape and close the application

3. Clear the event log. Your phone keeps a log of EVERYTHING you have done and can be cleared very easily.

From the home screen, press the menu button, press show keyboard, press and hold the button for the number options. Holding this down will lock the keyboard in numbers only mode. Once you are in the numbers press ,5,5 (comma 5 comma 5) this will take you into the event log. Once you are in the event log press the menu button and press clear log. Once cleared, press the escape key and close the application.

Re: MAKE YOUR STORM FASTER! VERY EASY TO DO!!

Hey just got the OS upgrade to 5.0 and can't seem to accomplish this. I could do it on my phone with OS 4.7 but when I try and go (in landscape or portrait) to the menu key and get the keyboard to show it's not an option. Any suggestions with 5.0?
