MEP Tries 0 on Pearl 9100

Does a Blackberry store have the ability to flash devices? I just purchased this phone off eBay. The device was locked to Bell mobility which I assumed meant it just hadn't been unlocked. I received the device and there are no MEP attempts left.

Any work arounds? I'm pulling my hair out.

RIM really ought to make a solution for this. I know it seems idiotic to try the same thing 10 times, but there are some of us with different situations.

This technique has a small chance to work (its old so its no guarantee):

If it doesn't then you will most likely either need to go to a carrier with a Box or Dongle that deal with Blackberry's, they can flash them (most or all models)(it seems only DM3 Team can reset Mep 0) or find a place (there are some shady places out there) to reset your device...

oh there is a solution, it is to read this article from the public knowledge base before buying any second device. And demand that the seller does all the steps relevant to them.

Hello!

Legally, no.

Please see this helpful thread to start:

If you have used up all of your chances to enter the correct unlock code, there is nothing further you can do. Even if you happen to have now the correct code, it is useless. Only the factory can now (legally) unlock your BB. Typically, I've heard that the cost of having RIM do this for you will be greater than the cost of just buying a new one. But, you are able to ask them...see here:

Note, however, that this process will start with a fee...

If you obtained your unlock code from somewhere but it was incorrect, your recourse could be with them -- however, they may well question why you exhausted all 10 attempts before contacting them.

If your BB was already MEP locked and you obtained it from a source that represented it as being able to be unlocked, then your recourse would be with the seller you obtained it from.

Good luck!
