MOVING OUT OF THE U.S., HELP!

hI! I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me with this. So, basically Im moving out of the U.S. not planning to come back unless for vacations.

Basically I want to be able to fully use my blackberry tour in Colombia, but again sprint would not unlock my phone. I heard I can get it unlocked with a code or get it flashed and release the pin.

I really dont know what all that means lol so can someone guide me in the correct path to do all this? like what do I need to first, and when do i need to do it  and by this I mean if I should do it before cancelling my services or after? please help meee!! thank you so much! Smiley Happy

Re: MOVING OUT OF THE U.S., HELP!

1. Sprint MUST release the PIN from your previous account.

2. You will need an MSL code to unlock the device. You can get that through www.horizonwirelessonline.com get their email contact and email them asking for the MSL code, for your Sprint device, with the model # and IMEI.

Re: MOVING OUT OF THE U.S., HELP!

what do you mean by MUST? do i have to tell them to release it or is it a given?

Now, my question is... what should I do(worst case scenario) if they dont release my bb pin? I have called several times and they tell me that the pin is associated with the cellphone. Im not sure if they are understanding what Im asking. Im really worried because there was one time that I travelled out the U.S (while being with sprint) and I tried to use a sim card, everything worked fine except for the fact that I couldnt use the bbm. I was told that the pin was still associated with the carrier.
