MY HEADPHONES WON'T WORK IN MY BOLD 9900!

Can someone please help me. I have had this phone (Bold 9900) since January because my old one broke on me. My headphones worked perfectly in my old phone and I never had problems with it. But this phone will not accept any headphones. I have tried various types of headphones and nothing is working. With my old phone I didn't even have to activate my headphones where as when I have asked people they said they had to activate their headphones. But with this phone when I go to activate the headphones it only says activate speakerphone and handset NOT HEADPHONES. What should I do? Please help me Cat Sad

If your in Blackberry OS 7.1, Go into the Blackberry Device Analyzer, Do the Speaker Test.

Options>Device> Advanced System Settings>Blackberry Device Analyzer>Hardware>Speaker>
