I recently modified my gmail password.
When I tried to set the new password on my BB, I got this message:
"Your device encountered a problem with this application's server"
what should I do?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
1) Register HRT
2) Resend Service Books
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you could try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts. You also could contact your carrier for formal support as they manage your BIS account/system.

OK, since you executed everything exactly as I instructed, what happened with the last two things (removing and re-creating the BIS configuration for that email account, contacting your carrier for formal support)?

Thanks for follwoing with me,this issue.
After executing what you recommanded, I always had the same error message.
I called my customer service, and they fixed ther pb, but it took 2 days to do so.
They didn't explained what they did.
