Media Card Error

I have a BlackBerry Torch 9800.  A few days ago it stated that I have Media card error and it asked if I wanted it to be repaired.  I said yes.  Then was told Media Card Repair Failed.  Came to the forum to get answers for the Media Card Error and was told to go to options>device>storage and attempt to reformat the discovered that no Media card is installed.  The interesting thing is that I still have my pictures and I've gotten them off and on the computer except for one.  I've managed to get the music off as well and that is fine. I've backed up the available information from the phone.   Every time I turn on the phone or it's been idle  it states that there is a media card error  and do I want to repair it.  Since I don't have one why is it doing this?

Re: Media Card Error

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

It is also possible that either your card or BB your has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain a known good and already fully formatted (in a BB) Media Card...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your Media Card in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your Media Card that has the problem. Note carefully that "known good and already full formatted" precludes buying a new card...rather, find someone with an identical BB and card, then trade cards and see what happens.

Good luck and let us know!
