did you ever get this figured out - mine does the same thing.  No matter what I do and where the slider says the player is playing, it starts at the beginning

what is the audio format of your file?
depending on the format, it is not not possible to navigate within the timeline.

please read "resolution 2" of this article from the public knowledge base:

KB14745 "Memory card contains error, please use disk checking utility on computer" appears on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone
