Re: Media card repairs

Before any other steps are run, try to get a backup of the media card.
I would save it to your hard drive, it maybe that you won't recover any more data.

You have multiple options:
1) Use the Windows or MAC disk repair tools with a card reader.

2) Use the same disk repair options with the media card in the Blackberry.

3) If you run Blackberry device OS 5.0 you can run the device repair application,.
It will address the media card, as well as internal device memory file system.

Media card errors are not always attributable to a specific error condition or method
of utilization. There is frequently no degradation or prior warning. Frequent backups
are the best defense.

Let me know what version of device OS you are running so I can send you the available
media card sizes for your specific model. Remember to get a card reader as well my last
one was free with the card. The procedures are listed below.
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks,

Hello Beracah

Yes you can download BlackBerry Devive Analyzer from BlackBerry World but before that try this on your Bold 9790

  • On the Homescreen Go to  Options
  • Hold the ALT key and type BBDA  ( ALT + BBDA)
  • A message will popup " BB Device Analyser enable in Option application " click OK

Then go to Options > Device > Advance System Setting > Check if BlackBerry Device Analyser is there .

And for your first issue , you can try this Knowledge Base :

KB14745 : "Memory card contains error, please use disk checking utility on computer" appears on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone
