My curve 8520 has a 2GB memory card which stopped working.
I tried formatting, doesnt work, I moved it to another curve 8520 but still doesnt work/format.
I tried restarting, and also connected it to the computer but that too didn't turn out to be productive.

Lacking description beyond "doesn't work", it's difficult to diagnose -- a detailed description of the symptoms, buttons pressed, and results observed (especially, if there are any, messages that pop up) can help.
But, in any event, one other thing to try is to remove the card from your BB and try a different known-good card. If it works, then the old card is the likely culprit. If the different card does not work, then the BB itself would be the culprit. You also can try the old card in a card reader on a PC to see if it can be read in that manner.
