Misplaced handset

Dear support team, 


I left my handset in a taxi two weeks ago and it did not appear after investigation by the company. I think the next client took it. My handset was on silent and it had a password to lock it when unused by me. 


I am now borrowing a torch bbm handset from my hubby, he disconnected his service from UK but it seems it still working through my network in ME. 

I need support to guarantee that my bbm service is not being used by whoever took my old handset. Could you please let me know if once they unlock it they will be able to see my data, contacts pictures etc....? 

I am trying to reconnect to bbm with the handset im using now but it seems the service/id is attached to the phone and it is on my hubby's account. I cannot disconnect it unless I delete the bbm application but once I upload it again it goes back to his logins and his account. 

Could you please recommend me what to do? Do I need to stop my bbm service? how do I log off my details from the old handset someone might be using?

1. This is a user-to-user community support forum. We are not RIM employees, but volunteers who enjoy assisting other users. RIM personnel rarely comment on queries posted here.
2. If you want to use YOUR account on the Torch, you need to allow that Torch to reset to factory...

Now when you return after the reset, you will enter YOUR BlackBerryID on the device, and setup your email with your accounts and your BBMessenger should be correct.
