Mobile Hotspot vs. Internet tethering

I am currently paying ATT for Internet tethering. Now that Os7 is offering Mobile Hotspot for BB Torch 9810, do I need to continue to pay for Internet tethering?

Re: Mobile Hotspot vs. Internet tethering

It varies from carrier to carrier, on Virgin Mobile I have never needed to pay extra to tether or use the hot spot feature. However I believe on AT&T you do

Re: Mobile Hotspot vs. Internet tethering

So now that I have Mobile Hotspot for free through BB, do I still need Internet tethering?

Re: Mobile Hotspot vs. Internet tethering

As per my message, yes - I believe on AT&T you do need Internet tethering to use the mobile hot spot feature - but the only sure way of knowing would be to ask AT&T themselves
