BIS, BES or Both? The one plan (unlimited internet data plan; NO BES)

Version of the App World client (downloaded from carrier website; problem also with version from BB site)

Did you remove the old version prior to upgrading? YES

Did you have any paid apps purchased from the previous version? NO


This is a new phone purchased from 3 Mobile.

Blackberry App world never worked on my phone.

Managed to download 3 apps with PC, after which that gives me an error as well (doesn't recognize my phone when connected to PC)

Google Maps also gives me a connection error. Internet browser works fine.


Tried battery pull; clearing the browser cache. Reinstalling app world + desktop software; changing time on phone.

Tired doing this wearing a red shirt, then a blue shirt and standing in one leg. It didn't work.

My carrier, 3 Mobile said that I need to add BES to download apps, which would add another 5pounds/months to my plan. I find this hard to believe.


This is my first ever Blackberry and i am still blessing the day I bought it, especially when I paid 350 pounds for it.


I see you've been working hard since 2009 to fix this problem.

After 2 years of hard work has RIM found a solution to this problem?


Otherwise, if anyone knows an alternate site to download the Oxford Handbook of clinical medicine for blackberry I would be most grateful.
