Moving O/S with 8230 in hand

Hi there,

For the past year I was based in San Fran and whist there I was lucky enough to be given an 8320 by my office. This worked particularly well when travelling, as call to the US were free whan connecting using a WiFi. I now find myself based in Australia with a new job and my trusty 8320. The only problem is that the phone is locked to TMobile and I need a way of using the local provider. I would have been more than happy to buy another BB however the telcos in Australia believe people making calls over IP is not a great thing, as it deminishes their revenue. Sadly this means the only BB Curves available in Australia are the 8310s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try the following site from where you can collect some unlock codes -

  1. GSM Phone Source
  2. Unloack BlackBerry

Thanks for the info. I tried the people at GSM PhoneSource and their service was fantastic.

The unlock worked first time.

Re: Moving O/S with 8230 in hand

The total was $US29.99. Not too bad as I was looking at using the curve as a paperweight if this did not work.
