Multiple message files

I have a message file/icon that I would like to delete.  This message file has my call log and emails together.  I have set up individual files/icons for my call log and e-mails.  However, this message file continues to count unread e-mails and missed calls and displays the missed call and unread email symbols at the top of my screen.  I have to go into 2 files to delete missed calls/e-mails or the symbol continues to show at the top of my screen.  How do I delete this message file?

Re: Multiple message files

Is this one named only "Messages"?

You can't remove the main Messages folder. You can clear all the unread messages by scrolling to the top of it, press the Menu key > Mark Prior Open.

Now, you can remove all emails from it (according the OS release installed on your 9700) by opening that folder > Menu key > Options > Inbox Settings and unselecting any email account to it. And save.
