My Blackberry has gone nuts

Hello everyone.. First off I want to say that I have no idea on how to describe this problem, that's why I haven't been able to search for any solutions, so i'll try the best I can.
I have Blackberry Bold 9900 for a year now, and for the last months it has started to go nuts, as in, my Blackberry gets a mind of it's own and randomly starts clicking things and moving around. I'm serious, it will work fine for like a minute, and then i'll see my cursor move on it's on, either it moves and starts hanging on a menu or it will just flicker trough everything in highspeed. When i try to write the blue cursor will travel across my screen from left to right, up and down, it's even happening as we speak as I'm writing it makes it so hard.

It just snaps and goes beserk and starts doing things on it's own, the only remedy I had was the lock-button on top of my phone, I used to lock it and it would be normal for a half hour before it started going beserk again, but now it looks like it's back by the minute, i don't even know HOW to battle this problem, because, basicly my Phone is tripping.. Battery pulls don't really help, and i've even updated my OS from 7.0 to 7.1 awhile ago and it looked like it vanished but after awhile this problem came back.. What on earth should I do..?

Re: My Blackberry has gone nuts

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Given your description, I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

If the behavior continues, then more drastic remedy attempts may be necessary (e.g., WIPE, reload, "bare-bones" test, etc.).

As a side note...I might have suspected moisture intrusion as that can have a similar effect...but, at the end, you said

which leads me to discount the moisture intrusion theory.

Good luck and let us know!
