I have just finished doing a factory reset and brought back my email and my contact list from the SIM card.  And guess what....that password lock is gone!

 

Actually it feels pretty good to get rid of the "old stuff" and begin "anew".

Glad you're fixed up. Be aware that if you followed my instructions then you didn't bring anything back from the sim card. The backup was/is stored on your computer.
