Earlier today i swapped the sim card in my blackberry bold into another phone, after i had finished using the other phone i switched the sim card back into the blackberry and put the battery in as normal. However, the red light did not come on as it usually does, and when i tried to charge it both my the mains and using a usb there was no change. Any ideas???

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours on a KNOWN good charger, and then, still connected to the charger cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage).

I work in one of the telecomunications companies , and i had like more than 5 similar cases.
If the red indicator turns on , then your device works but you have your os currupted probably , try installing the software without the battery , and wait until it reaches to a stage where it says waiting for device to initilize , then place in the battery.
2nd solution if nothing really works .
Remove the battery for a whole day . 24 Hours will be prefered , and place the battery in .
It worked for more than 10 devices so far , and still counting .

I have the same problem. I will try the last instructions and will pull down the battery for 24 hours, and then I will try again.
