My daughter dropped her 8310 curve in water....it actually soaked overnight!

We've dried it out and tried the rice solution.  It charges and she can make and receive calls but the roller ball doesn't work and some of the keys around the ball aren't working.  Any suggestions??

I'm sorry to hear that and I'm sorry the poor 8310 as well. The issue you're mentioning is a hardware issue and difficult to recover. Contact RIM authorized support center to verifying the damage and possibility of restoring the device condition.

Sometimes corrosion on the contacts can happen very quickly especially from water overnight. If it is not under warranty or they won't fix it because it is water damage. You can try to fix it yourself. The trackball and keyboard needs to be removed and cleaned with rubbing alcohol. There are disassembly videos on you tube.
