My media has been deleted

My media card fell out of my phone and when i put it back in all my music, videos, songs, pictures etc had been deleted and a message came up on the screen saying 'A Media Card has been inserted that is not formatted. Do you wish to format the Media Card now' and then 'Warning: formatting the Media Card will destroy ant data stored on it. Do you wish to continue' i selected yes before reading properly and a couple of minutes late another message popped up saying that the format had failed. Has all the data on my media card already been destroyed even though the format failed and if not how do i get it back on my phone?

Re: My media has been deleted

You might have.

Remove the SD card from your phone immediately.

Get a PC adapter for the SD card to read the card on your PC.

See what files or images are there. If there are some, copy or save them to your PC.

If all or some are missing, get the free PC software named ZAR (Zero Assumption Recovery) to run on your PC and read the media card for deleted items, ZAR will recover all images it possibly can.

Then, AFTER that, try formatting your card via the PC.

Re: My media has been deleted

It's been a year since I used ZAR and I don't have on this laptop, but i believe you tell it what kind of files to look for.

That;'s something you'll find out when you use it.
