NEED ANSWERS

IM USING A NEW HANDHELD NOW COS MY OLD PHONE GOT BROKEN. IM STILL USING THE SAME BLACKBERRY ID AS TO WHAT MY BBID IS IN MY OLD ONE. NOW, IF I UNINSTALL MY BLACKBERRY MESSENGER AND RE-INSTALL IT AGAIN, WHICH BBM CONTACTS WILL BE RESTORED? THE CURRENT CONTACTS THAT I HAVE OR THE CONTACTS THAT I HAVE IN MY OLD PHONE. THANKS.

Re: NEED ANSWERS

so let me understand.
you put your sim card in a new device and you havent logged in to the BB ID at all ? so the BBid belongs to the person you borrowed the phone from?
did you take a back up on the old phone on your PC or on Blackberry protect?

Re: NEED ANSWERS

NO. I BOUGHT A NEW ONE AND BEEN USING IT FOR A MONTH ALREADY. AND NOPE I WASNT ABLE TO PERFORM A BACK UP IN MY OLD PHONE BUT I HAD BLACKBERRY PROTECT IN IT. NOT SO SURE IF I HAD BACKED UP MY DATAS/FILES REGULARLY. IM USING THE SAME BBID IN MY OLD PHONE HERE IN MY NEW ONE RIGHT NOW.

Re: NEED ANSWERS

ok so you need to download BB protect and if you have a backed up file in there from your previous device it will tell you. if you reload that file it will give you the profile of that day so contacts, email setttings etc
if you dont have a backed up file on your PC or on blackberry protect then you wont be able to get your old contacts back

Re: NEED ANSWERS

1. What are the old and new BlackBerry device models you're using?

Newer OS 7 and BB10 devices will require the BBID be used on only ONE device.

2. If you're using BBMessenger v7, your BBM contacts will follow the BBID to the new device.

Re: NEED ANSWERS

i already have my blackberry protect in my new device and restored all my calendars, email settings etc including contacts but NOT my bbm contacts. What i wanted to happen is to have my bbm contacts back from my old phone to my new one.
